One of my “hot topics” is PFAS – a class of hazardous chemicals found in cookware, clothing and food packaging. These “forever chemicals” (bbecasue of their “stickiness” they literall never go away!) are rapidly contaminating water and people across the United States and are linked to serious health effects, like hormone disruption and cancer.
A recent notice from one of my favorite groups > Environmental Working Group (EWG.org) highlighted the feature film “Dark Waters” from Participant Media and Focus Features. “The film is based on the true story of environmental lawyer Rob Bilott who took on DuPont after he uncovered evidence the company knowingly dumped toxic PFAS chemicals into drinking water in and around Parkersburg, West Virginia.”
