ABOUT IMANI
Imani
is the visionary behind the MAMALUTION™
- the revolution of mamas taking back the planet and author
of the recent release The Absence of Soil.
She is the owner of Alchemy, an all organic
living foods juice bar café in Hartford, CT along
with her beloved. They also own and operate the Growing
Green Co-op which offers classes and events pertaining
to health, sustainability and community. It also houses
the Sustainable Academy for Kids designed
to empower up and coming generations with the life skills
and knowledge necessary for our future survival.
Her message is one of RADICAL homesteading,
FEMININE sovereignty and food FREEDOM
shaped by our power as western women to change
the course of history simply with the ways we consume. Her
inspiration is her family. She is the mother of six homeschooled
children ages seven to eighteen. She birthed her four biological
children at home and has raised her children to be real-foodists
with diets consisted of whole, organic, non-packaged, non-GMO
foods. Her most recent project is to acquire a thirty year
working farm, Alchemy
Acres, that will serve as both an educational center
for growing nutrient dense food as well as a key provider
for real food for her family and the community.
We are all Mamalutionaries! In looking
back over the past fifteen years spent manifesting this
vision of community after the birth of my first child I
realized that I had come a long way! Sometimes when we are
so immersed in the big vision we become blind to what is
right before us. In my case, I think this characteristic
allowed me to stay intensely focused on my goals…not
to say there were not many hardships, losses and sorrows
along the way….in this way we are all connected and
understand the universal language of the mother. The work
of being present in the face of truth is not always easy.
